Who is Rhneedle?
What is life but one grand adventure? How many paths have you looked down and wondered “what if?” One January morning of 2025, Rhneea was hit with one of those moments…
I love sewing! I was taught how to sew by Grandma Pat and she was wonderful enough to pass her love for the craft onto me. I took that passion and thought of that very “what if?” Several texts to my best friends, my family, and my girlfriend later, I had come up with a business plan and dream.
With a name like Rhneea, I knew whatever name my business takes needs to be just as unique! The name Rhneedle came from the combination of my name, Rhneea, and the word “needle”, cute right? I can’t take all the credit though! My bestie Megan was the one who helped come up with the combination during one of our brain dump text conversations!
Who is Rhneea?
I never know what to say when asked “where are you from?” I have lived in California, the Carolinas, and even Japan! But when it came to choosing my own place to live as an adult, I found a calling for the mountains! Off I went to Appalachian State for an education degree in Mathematics and Social Studies. There I fell in love with the Appalachian Mountains due to the culture, community, and feel of connection to the Earth everywhere you step.
I was mentored in sewing by my Grandma Pat, an award-winning quilter. While quilting was not my forte (sorry Grandma!), I found that my passion for math and creativity melded together perfectly in creating clothes. I quickly fell down the rabbit hole of trying creating more complicated pieces and hacking patterns. From there, I began to teach myself how to combine patterns to make designs that were in my own head and make them reality! Now, I’m in the process of teaching myself how to make my own patterns to stretch what I can to!
Currently, I can be found living in my RV with my pittie, Bean, and two orange, cats Scuttle and Sebastian! I have been living in my RV for 2-years now and am thriving in the Brevard, NC area! I love being only a few hours from my family across the Carolina boarders and have built the family I found here in Brevard that I know I can rely on!
